History of Architecture is an organised concept by a critical point of wiew of all design matters: buinding design, urban planning, landascape planning, technology, industrial design, restoration of monuments. It comtemplates social, economic and managing parameters too.
This course of architectural history covers the topics of religious architecture, landscape architecture, civil architecture, naval architecture, and military architecture – each offering insight into the role of history, culture, and geography in shaping the world around us. An understanding of the history of architecture can help those in the field work and operate better.
Through lectures (focusing on the greatest exponents of the Modern Movement that have also dealt with Industrial Design) and workshops (where students can progressively apply their knowledge and finally develop a research project for a multimedia product, improving their communication and expression skills), this course aims to increase students' ability in philological analysis, historical investigation, as well as the ability to independently conduct research and critically analyze information.
Knowledge of general contemporary history according to UE secondary School standard
Formalist, sociological and iconological methods.
