OVERVIEW

The subject of the module is the evaluation as a tool to support complex decision-making processes and urban and territorial transformations. The module will develop the theme of the feasibility of urban transformation both from the economic, social and environmental point of view, with particular reference to a municipal planning process.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Supplies the theoretical and operational tools for assessing the feasibility of urban and territorial transformation interventions.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The main objective of the module is to provide students with the theoretical and operational tools for the definition and evaluation of the technical and economic feasibility of interventions at different scales, from construction to urban and territorial.

The student will learn what are the types of value to be researched and the techniques to be applied for the resolution of the evaluation questions that characterize the transformation projects of the built heritage and of the territory.

TEACHING METHODS

The module's didactic path is developed on three levels:

- online lessons on the Teams platform of the "Estimo" module;

- thematic analysis by consulting materials made available on the Aulaweb and Teams of the module "Estimo (cod. 83883)";

- individual and / or group exercises on topics developed within the Urban Planning module.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The module is divided into two parts:

The first part deals with - from a theoretical point of view - the evaluation techniques (monetary and non-monetary) with particular reference to the project at the urban and territorial level.

In particular, the following evaluation techniques will be considered.

- SWOT analysis

- Multicriteria analysis

In the second part of the module an evaluation of the intervention scenarios defined by the students will be developed on the basis of the preliminary analyzes developed on the area assigned in the Urban Planning module. The purpose of the evaluation is to select which of the differents possible scenarios best meets the design objectives and needs identified for the territory analyzed.

The evaluation application will be carried out for groups of students.

The assessment concerns both group work, the contribution of the individual and his overall commitment and profit.

The Commission evaluates in an integrated way the contents of the project proposal, the elaborations through which it is expressed, the modalities of its presentation.

During the year, the participation and commitment in exercises and collective discussions by the student is required and evaluated.
