The class provides the basic tools to analyse the institutional, economical and cultural aspects of theatre and performing arts, also considering their historical ground. The course will especially deal with spoken drama and opera theatre.
The theater, both in the places (from the oldest settlements, Roman theaters, historical theaters, to conventional spaces and the use of monumental or landscaping) as well as the typologies (folklore, sacred representations, stable programming, festivals and events) Leaves on the territory the signs of a presence that is always the form of the community, of a socialization of problems and perspectives; On the other hand a concept of entertainment endowed with end-to-end consumption has no historical impact on the life of the territory.
Lectures, with projection of video materials.
