The teaching activities allow the student to: - acquire knowledge on the role of the state in the market economy - identify the reasons for state intervention in the economy in the presence of externalities, market power and asymmetric information - understand the nature and financing of public goods - acquire analysis and application capacity for the regulation of the public utilities sector - understand the rules and processes of collective decision-making - understand the reasons for fiscal decentralization, the role of local authorities and financial relations between levels of government
The training activity is divided into lectures, interactive teaching, guided study, practical exercises and seminar activities.
A) Institutional part: - Role of the state in the economy - Processes and rules of collective decision - Public utility services and competition policies - Fiscal decentralization B) Seminar part: Insights on current topics of economics and public finance.

Oral exam with written graphic exercises
For students attending the learning assessment includes two written tests during the course and an oral exam at the end of the course. The two written tests refer to different parts of the course program. For non-attending students the verification consists only of the oral exam. Questions about the contents of the program and graphic exercises The Examining Board is designated by the Department Council (DISPO) and chaired by the course professor.
