The aim of this course is to provide the students with all the specific information related to the naval vessel design; partcular attention has been paid in expalinign trnsversal requirements impact into the preliminary design; signatures, vulnerability, human factors, ways to procure ships have been covered. some practical examples have been given and some experience from the industrial field has been presented by some representatives (Fincantieri and RINA Class Society). Special attention to submarines design has been paid with some intervention from the Italian Navy staff as well. students have been showed some vessels under construction in Muggiano shipyard and a logistic seminar has been arragned for them in La Spezia.
