OVERVIEW

The course intends to provide a knowledge of the basics of tutorship

AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students should be able :

to define the role of the tutor as a facilitator;

to illustrate the role of the tutor within a group of students:

  • to lead a Problem Based Learning session,
  • to lead a Team Based Learning session.

to illustrate the role of the tutor in a work-based situation:

  • to share a learning contract with a student;
  • to give a feedback to a student.

TEACHING METHODS

interactive lecture.

Simulation and role playing.

 

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Theories of adult learning and tutorship.

Tutor as a learning facilitator.

Tutor and the group of students in class: Problem Based Learning and Team Based Learning.

Tutor and one student in a work-based situation: the learnign contract and the formative evaluation (how to give a feedback)
