AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES student will be able to recognize and treat emergencies/urgencies of medical-surgical interest (cardiac, hemodynamic, respiratory, abdominal, neurological, orthopedic, psychiatric, traumatic, vascular, hemorrhagic, allergic, infectious, toxic and environmental/accidental physical agents) . they will be able to manage the initial stages until possible hospitalization and acquire manual skills and immediate rescue techniques and knowledge of the use of drugs of interest in the emergency area. PREREQUISITES It's required a good knowledge of surgical anatomy, pathophysiology and pathology of the main diseases which can compromise in acute the vital functions. Good knowledge of clinical pharmacology is required. It’s essential to have the basic concepts of evidence-based medicine and a decent knowledge of the statistics applied to medicine. The test consists on 31 multiple choice questions on topics of basic knowledge, diagnosis and therapy in the field of Emergencies. The questions are prepared in order to evaluate the acquired knowledge and the logic skills of the student. ASSESSMENT METHODS Accuracy of the answers; 1 point assigned for each correct answer.
