CODE 67593 ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/2022 CREDITS 1 cfu anno 6 MEDICINA E CHIRURGIA 8745 (LM-41) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR MED/18 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: EMERGENCY AND TRAUMATOLOGY TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course the student should be able to: recognize and frame an acute abdomen in its various manifestations from a clinical and instrumental diagnostic point of view, to present the clinical case in an effective way to other colleagues for the diagnostic-therapeutic continuity. recognize the clinical picture of intra-abdominal infection (peritonitis), occlusion and intestinal ischemia and analyzing the possible differential diagnoses after a correct work out, to solve the case by providing foundamentals for treatment, according to modern guidelines to deal with a simple or complex trauma, according to priority criteria having knowledge of the management of the early stages of open and closed abdominal and thoracic trauma according to shared priority criteria in harmony with current guidelines and according to available resources. Having to manage a trauma, the student must know how to provide the important elements for the subsequent management of the trauma itself. In particular, the student should be able to recognize and treat pneumothorax and ruptured spleen. TEACHING METHODS Plenary lectures, multidisciplinar teaching and professional training at the University Simulation Center (discussion of clinical cases, simulation of the most common events in surgical emergencies / urgencies). Attendance is compulsory with hours distributed according to a calendar that integrates with the other courses of the Integrated Course. Some of the Skills will be taught and commented on through special recordings. In case of continuation of the health emergency, the course will be organized electronically on the Teams platform according to a calendar that will be shared.
