Acquire knowledge about the main toxicological actions caused by acute or chronic exposure of some classes of xenobiotics. Acquire the basic notions of drug / toxic-kinetics. In particular, knowledge will be required: of the mechanisms that regulate the absorption of drugs and toxic substances, with particular regard to the pathways of absorption / intoxication; their distribution, metabolism and elimination. Know the main aspects of pharmacodynamics in particular the mechanisms of action with which drugs and xenobiotics act. Know the organ-specific toxicity of various compounds. Know the possible pharmacological treatments in case of acute or chronic poisoning by pesticides, some heavy metals and gases and vapors.
