OVERVIEW

The course broadens the institutional knowledge acquired during the three-year degree course with a monograph approach.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Analysing knowledge of the history of the Italian language with particular attention to the ancient language, non-standard variations of Italian, literary Italian and issues of style and metrics.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, students should be able to a) recognise the linguistic and stylistic features of Beppe Fenoglio's Il partigiano Johnny and Eugenio Montale's Ossi di Seppia; b) analyze from a linguistic and stylistic point of view passages by Fenoglio's Il partigiano Johnny and texts from Montale's Ossi di Seppia (with a focus on lexis and intertextuality).

The course is divided into two parts.

6 CFU: Beppe Fenoglio's Partigiano Johnny language and style.

3 CFU: Young Montale's lexis and intertextuality (Ossi di seppia).
