Statistical elaboration of data from physical activities and sports
The teaching of Statistics, included in this integrated teaching, aims to provide the necessary knowledge to analyze methods for functional evaluation of athletes, with grip to applied profession.
Knowing the techniques and the methods to perform data collection, organization, preparation and representation (descriptive statistics), as well as hints of probability theory and statistical inference in order to evaluate physical exercise and its effects on samples and population.
Frontal lessons, except for the need to carry out remotely (please, refer to the statistics course on Aulaweb for any updates)
The variability of biological data. Concept of measurement and type of statistical variables. Unit of measure and order of magnitude. Rounding numbers and scientific notation. Errors of measurement. Data transformation. Absolute and relative frequencies, percentage, percentage changes. Collection, organization and graphical representation of data. Central tendency (averages and quantiles). Statistical dispersion (variation range, variance, standard deviation, standard error, coefficient of variation). Probability of events, probability distributions: normal curve. Population, sampling and statistical inference: theory and types of sampling, confidence intervals of mean and percentages.
