In the Dynamics of Environmental Systems module, fundamentals of continuous and discrete time simulation are introduced, as well as white, gray and back box models. Models in the Matlab environment are therefore exemplified, such as water quality.
The module Models and Methods for Decision Support aims at providing the students with basic knowledge of the models and methods of Operations Research to face decisional problems. More specifically, in this module linear and integer programming models and solution algorithms are studied, together with models and algorithms of graph theory and networks, These methods will be applied for the solutions of some example problems related to the management of emergency situations.
