Admission requirements

The course is aimed at Bachelor's and Master's graduates and professionals already working in the field of
teaching design or in the universities' centres for teaching innovation. It is also aimed at secondary school graduates with at least six months' experience (also internship) in the field of instructional design.

Objectives

The course, which is mainly delivered online, aims to train experts in Faculty Development who are able to coordinate and design teaching and curricular activities in dedicated training centres (e.g. universities' centres for teaching innovation) or directly in companies and organisations.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • describe the skills model of the university lecturer
  • describe the characteristics of the main theories of learning and the educational implications
  • illustrate the characteristics of transmissive, collaborative, exploratory, simulative, metacognitive, narrative, individualised and professional methods

Teaching organisation

Teaching organisation

The course comprises 60 hours of training, mainly online on the Moodle Aulaweb platform, 3 lectures (a total of 18 hours) will be held in person.

The course is awarded16 CFUs.
Interested students can apply for the recognition of the relevant CFUs to the competent University structures.

Location of teaching activities:

  • predominantly online on the Moodle Aulaweb
  • platform
  • three face-to-face lectures at UTLC - UniGe Teaching and Learning Centre, Via Vivaldi 5 (GE)

Course start date and attendance schedule

The course will start on 27 January 2025 and the teaching organisation envisages that the training will be completed within 6 months.

The in-person classroom phase will take place on the following days:

  • 27 January from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00
  • .
  • 28 January from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • 14 March from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00

with an approximate commitment of 6 hours per day.


The Project work will be discussed in person on 19 September 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Absences permitted: 20% of total lecture hours.

Enrolment modalities

The application for admission must be submitted online by the deadlines indicated on the announcements. UniGePASS credentials are issued to all students at the university.
