The course takes into consideration the general principles of Biochemical Propaedeutics with particular reference to the basic knowledge of chemistry with the illustration of the main processes connected to them. In particular, the course deals with the description of the main functional groups and the mechanisms of the main reactions which will later be useful for learning the biochemical mechanisms. Furthermore, with the teaching of General Biology, attention is paid to some basic notions such as the study of the structure and functions of cells and of the fundamental mechanisms of the transmission of genetic information, to understand the general principles on which life is based. In this way we want to lay the foundations for the subsequent understanding, in a molecular key, of the complex processes that underlie the life of cells and living beings.
