The module is composed by two modules. The two modules are PERVASIVE COMMUNICATION AND CONTEXT AWARENESS and PHYSICAL LAYER MODELS AND TECHNIQUES FOR SOFTWARE RADIO. The goal of the two modules is to provide to the student a whole set of technological and theoretical tools to be able to understand the principles and to be able to design radio communication links.
Student should be familiar with time-frequency representation of signals, sampling, quantization and coding of signals, probabilities, statistics, random processes, digital signal processing, digital filters.

The exam description of each module is described in the related document.
The assessment methods of each unit are described in the related documents. The .mark to be assigned is based on the average of the marks obtained in each module. The exam is considered to have been passed only if both module exams have been passed separately.
Students with learning disorders ("disturbi specifici di apprendimento", DSA) will be allowed to use specific modalities and supports that will be determined on a case-by-case basis in agreement with the delegate of the Engineering courses in the Committee for the Inclusion of Students with Disabilities.
