AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Facing the mechanical modeling of the musculoskeletal system, analyzing some motor activities, including walking and some sports disciplines, and basic problems related to joint prostheses; Hints of anthropometry and motion measurement. Anti-gravity control system (posture or balance system) that allows man to take up posture and move in space especially in sports gestures

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course the student will know the concepts of: 

• Anatomical axes and planes
• Body's posture, attitude and positions
• Muscular contraction
• Classification of movements types
• Motor capabilities
• Motor skills (in particulal, motor learning)
• Gait analysis during walk and run 

TEACHING METHODS

Frontal lectures.

Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liase and arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The main aim of the course is to give the students the basic knowledge of methods applied in motor activities, with a particula focus on: 

• Sport science terminology
• Definitions and types of motor capabilities
• Definitions and types of motor abilities 
• Biomechanics of walking and running

The examination will be conducted in written form. It will consist of 16 multiple-choice questions and two open-ended questions.
