What it is

In order to be admitted to the degree examination, you must have obtained all the credits stipulated in the education system of your degree programme.

The final examination consists of an experimental thesis lasting no less than seven months
. corresponding to 38 CFU. The results of the activity will be set out in a written dissertation
elaborated in an original way by the student under the guidance of a supervisor and discussed orally before a committee made up of professors of the School and/or experts in the field.

You may begin the thesis once you have acquired 50 CFU (justified exceptions may be considered for students who have already acquired at least 44 CFU according to the unquestionable judgement of the Curricular Requirements Committee) in your study plan.

Pre-graduate seminars

A pre-graduation seminar day will be established, possibly unique for all candidates in the same graduation session. Pre-graduate seminars will normally be held one week before the date of graduation. The presentation will be in Italian or English at the student's choice. The session is normally public, but if the experimental work is of a confidential nature it may be held in camera, at the request of the supervisor, with a confidentiality agreement signed by the commissioners. Candidates will have:
30 minutes for the presentation of the thesis;
20-30 minutes for the discussion.

At least 11 days before the degree examination, the candidate must upload (without confirming) their thesis in "in compilation" mode on the online services portal.

Please read the final examination regulations carefully for more information.
