The course aims to provide students with a basic knowledge of classical mechanics and elements of thermodynamics.
To provide basic knolwedge about thermodynamics and electromagnetism in vacuum and to make the student able to describe the behaviour of thermodynamical system and of a system of charges in presence of varying electric and magnetic fields
Develop the critical sense of acquiring the ability to use the specific physical instruments (models, laws, theories, etc.) to observe and interpret natural phenomena and their evolution in the field of Newton's mechanics of material point and rigid body.
Frontal lectures on the blackboard. Eithero in presence or online, depending on the University indications. Guided exercises and solution of exam problems.

See the Exam Description for the parent 80527 course which describes the exam for both FIS/01 and FIS/03 modules.
Scope of the written test is to evaluate the degree of understanding of selected topics that sample the various part of the program. The tests regarding mechanics and electromagnetisms are commonly adopted by most of the General Physics Courses active at the Polytechnic School. Scope of the oral examination is to verify the degree of understanding of the topics covered by the program. This is done by assessing the ability to apply them when confronted with parctical basic problems as well as disclose the acquired knowledge and the ability to apply such knowledge to the resolution of problems. And by gauging the level of undertsanding of the basic concepts on Physics.
