Particular emphasis will be placed on the knowledge of psychodynamic family models in favor of analyzing different family contexts and intervention methodologies. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES • Knowledge and understanding: knowledge from a historical perspective of psychological and emotional family dynamics; knowledge of the development, across years, of different models of family therapy; knowledge of some family assessment tools, as well as parenting skills evaluation methods; • Applying knowledge and understanding: achieve an understanding of family relations and of their consequences on parents and children in the light of family psychology, according to both he psychodynamic and to the systemic perspective; • Making judgments: ability to recognize indicators of well-being and distress in family dynamics, including parenting; • Communication skills: ability to present, with a systematic and structured style, the concepts related to family dynamics according to the psychodynamic and the systemic approach; • Learning skills: ability to independently choose scientific writings to deepen the themes of family dynamics and parenting skills assessment; • Soft skills: alphabetic-functional, social, personal skills of advanced level and learn to learn. TEACHING METHODS The teaching will consist of traditional lectures with slides and video, and active lectures with presentations and discussions of case studies. The critical and active participation of the students will be encouraged. Practical exercises for attending students will be provided. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The aim of the course is to presents an overview of the development and psychodynamics of family, highlighting the aspects of the couple. Another point will be the involvement of the parents in the life of the children. ASSESSMENT METHODS For attending students there will be verification tests in progress through short presentations on the topics addressed and subsequent oral exam will be expected. For those who do not attend, the oral exam will only be expected.
