EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam consists of two parts: one theoretical and one practical.

The theoretical part consists of a test made up of 15 multiple-choice questions, designed to demonstrate the candidate’s knowledge of the following topics:
a. Basic concepts of information technology
b. Computer use and file management
c. Computer networks

The practical part, which may be taken only by those who have correctly answered at least 12 questions in the theoretical part, consists of the following tasks:

  1. Editing a text in Word format, appropriately following the instructions provided by the lecturer, and saving it in a directory created on the desktop.
  2. Searching the Web, using an appropriate search engine such as Google, Yahoo, Virgilio, etc., for a document of legal interest, and saving it in a specified format.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The examination methods are designed to assess students’ actual knowledge and acquisition of basic IT concepts, as well as their ability to correctly use editing and information retrieval programs.

More specifically, in relation to the first part, students must demonstrate that they have understood the main concepts relating to information technology, the most significant notions concerning the use and components of the computer, as well as the main methods for using files and managing computer networks.

In the second part, students will be asked to apply the above theoretical notions in practice by processing a Word file and searching for digital documents in databases accessible via the Internet.
