In-depth knowledge of the morphological knowledge of the foot (bones, joints, ligaments and muscles) and the nerve and vascular structures of the lower limb.
The teaching of Human Anatomy of the Locomotor Apparatus aims to bring students to the knowledge of the anatomical and functional organization of structures that allow the movement of the human body. An understanding of the topics covered in the classroom should allow the student to go deeper into specific topics in complete autonomy.
The teaching activity is organised in lectures. During these lectures all the issues the student has to know for the final exam will be explained and discussed with the help of visual aids.
Skeleton and joints of the foot: tarsal bones, metatarsal bones, and phalanges of the foot. Origin, insertion, innervation and action of the intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of the foot
Neuroanatomy Peripheral nervous system: Ways in which the lumbar and sacral plexuses are organized. Sensory and motor innervation of the lower limb with special reference to femoral nerve, obturator nerve, ischiatic nerve, gluteal nn. and posterior and lateral cutaneous nerves of the thigh.
Vascular and lymphatic system Arterial, venous and lymphatic vessels of the lower limb.

Oral exam.
During the exam, students' communication skills will be evaluated, and they must demonstrate knowledge of the anatomical structures discussed in class and an understanding of their anatomical and functional relationships. In accordance with Law 170/10 "New rules on specific learning disabilities in the educational system," support services are available for students with learning disabilities through the Office for Services to Students with Disabilities and Specific Learning Disorders.
