AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

To understand the complete set of subjects (even somewhat differentiated) that form the actual informatics matter. To be able to use, with a correct level of knowledge, most of the tools that the computer science have developed at present.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. basic understanding of computer architecture, interaction between hardware and software, binary representation of numbers, data conceptualization, and data typing.
  2. fundamentals of using a data analysis environment.
  3. fundamentals on digital image representation

TEACHING METHODS

Frontal lessons and exercises.

Working students and students with DSA, disability, or other special educational needs certification are advised to contact the teacher at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching and exam methods that, in compliance with the teaching objectives, take into account individual ways of learning.

    • Examples with ImageJ

 

  • Data analysis with R
    • Basic concepts (data types, data structures, Functions, Operators, Flow control, Importing and exporting data)
    • Data manipulation
    • Data Visualization.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam includes a written bar test, followed by an oral.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Students' preparation will be ascertained by:

  1. Bar test: written test in which basic knowledge is required
  2. Oral test, in which the topics covered in the course are evaluated

The oral test is accessed only if an established minimum score is obtained in the bar test.
