OVERVIEW

Individual and Combat Sports is an integrated course that combines theoretical and practical learning across three specific modules: Judo, Athletics, and Gymnastic. The course is designed to foster an understanding of the characteristics of individual sports performance—as seen in Athletics and Equipment—and of performance in opposition to an opponent, as in Judo.

The teaching approach provides students with fundamental technical, motor, and didactic knowledge, with a strong focus on the educational and relational dimensions. These aspects are considered essential for those intending to work in training and educational settings.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

In each integrated module the teacher gives theory and technique lessons of the individual sporting activity through lectures and technical experience on the practice fields, with specific reference to the main disciplines of athletics, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, and judo

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The course Individual and Combat Sports, composed of the modules Judo, Athletics, Artistic and Rytmic Gymnastic and, includes two main evaluation phases:

Practical  Test
Each module includes a practical test, generally held at the end of the module. To access the final written exam, students must:
Attend at least 70% of the total course hours;
Pass the practical test in all three disciplines.
The test assesses the acquisition of basic motor skills through the execution of exercises or techniques taught in class. Each instructor evaluates the test independently and assigns a score that contributes to the final grade.

Written Test
The final written exam, common to all three modules, consists of 33 multiple-choice questions (11 per module).
Duration: 33 minutes total (42 minutes for students entitled to extra time), divided into three separate blocks of 11 minutes each (14 minutes with extra time).
Passing criteria: A minimum of 6 correct answers out of 11 per module. If a student scores 5/11 in one module but exceeds 8/11 in the other two, the exam may still be passed with a penalty of -2 points on the final score.
The test is taken via the AulaWeb platform, using the student's university credentials and on-site computers in the designated lab.
Once passed, the exam result is recorded in the student's academic profile within a week. Students can then accept or reject the grade online through the student portal.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The teaching of Individual and Combat Sports evaluates the skills acquired by students through practical tests and a written exam, also integrating aspects related to participation and personal commitment.

In the practical part , the student is asked to perform some technical actions learned during the lessons, to demonstrate mastery of the fundamental motor skills of each discipline. The specifications of the required exercises can be consulted in the sheets of the individual modules. The evaluation aims to recognize not only the correct execution, but also the attention and care in the work done.

There written test ensures understanding of the theoretical content covered in class. The student must demonstrate knowledge, for each discipline, of the definition and description, basic regulation, main technical actions, performance model and some fundamental teaching elements.

In line with the teaching regulations, which require a mandatory attendance of at least 70%, the final evaluation also takes into account the quality of participation in the classroom, the commitment shown in the course and the relational attitude. These aspects are considered essential, since those who undertake this training course will be called, in the future, to work in educational contexts, often in close contact with children and young people. For this reason, the evaluation values skills, active presence and responsibility in an integrated way.
