CODE 117987 ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 1 LINGUE E LETTERATURE MODERNE PER L'INSEGNAMENTO, L'EDITORIA E I MEDIA DIGITALI 11953 (LM-37 R) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR L-FIL-LET/12 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to provide: (i) an in-depth knowledge of the fundamental concepts of text linguistics: coherence, cohesion, textual types, punctuation, anaphora, focus, ellipsis, etc.; (ii) a set of textual analysis techniques for translation, acquired through exercises in the comparison of Italian, French, English, German, Spanish texts; (iii) the study in contrastive perspective of phenomena such as connectives, adverbs, word order, verb tenses etc., pertaining to the various levels of textual organization: thematic-referential, logical-argumentative, enunciative-polyphonic. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course the student: (i) will be familiar with the essential concepts of text linguistics (ii) will be able to apply these concepts to the analysis of texts in a comparative perspective (iv) will have deepened the study of textual phenomena and translation choices in the comparison between original text and translation TEACHING METHODS The course will be held in presence, with a component of classroom exercises. Class schedule The timetable for this course is available here: Portale EasyAcademy EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION Essay on a topic in textual contrastive linguistics to be agreed upon with the teacher, followed by an oral examination on the course programme; moreover, during the course a (group or individual) presentation in class will be required, on a topic at choice in text linguistics for translation (such presentation will be replaced by a written essay for students not attending).
