The course introduces the student to the study of the mechanics of solids and structures. In the "Mechanics of Solids and Structures" module, classes of solutions are presented with reference to plane problems and plane and curved two-dimensional structural theories; the basics of the finite element method for the determination of approximate numerical solutions are also illustrated. In the "Dynamics of Structures I" module, the dynamic response of simple structural systems is studied in relation to the main environmental dynamic actions (wind and earthquake); a first approach to experimental dynamic analysis is also proposed with an "Experimental Modal Analysis" Laboratory, carried out by the course participants,
