OVERVIEW

The integrated course “History of Sport – Anthropology – Sports Journalism” offers a multidisciplinary and critical perspective on sport as a historical, cultural, social, and media phenomenon. Through the intersection of three complementary approaches, students will gain tools to understand the origins of sport, its anthropological meanings, and its role in contemporary society, with a special focus on the languages and practices of sports journalism.

  • Understand the historical development of sport in relation to political, economic, and cultural contexts.
  • Analyse sport as a cultural and symbolic phenomenon tied to identity, rituals, gender, the body, and globalization.
  • Learn the languages, techniques, and evolution of both traditional and digital sports journalism.

Basic knowledge of historical developments.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam of the integrated course “History of Sport – Anthropology – Sport Journalism” consists of a written test lasting one hour.

The written test focuses on the topics covered during the lectures and the materials provided and indicated in the “Syllabus/Content” section of each course. The written test consists of three questions, one for History of Sport, one for Anthropology and one for Sports Journalism: to achieve a passing grade, all answers must be sufficient. The answer for History of Sport will be evaluated at 12/12, those for Anthropology and Sports Journalism at 9/9, so as to respect the different CFU of the courses. The final grade is given by the sum of the partial grades of the three answers.
