This course the theoretical basis of biomechanical analysis of motor/sport movement. It offers useful methodological and didactic ideas for a first orientation in the various fields of professional intervention allowing to make their specific skills.
The educational objective of the teaching is to deepen the biomechanical aspects of the sporting gesture, combining anatomical-functional knowledge with the biomechanical analysis of the joint movement aimed at the simple and/or complex athletic gesture.
The objective is to lay the foundation for theoretical and methodological knowledge related to the biomechanical aspects of motor and sports gestures. The course integrates anatomo-functional knowledge with the biomechanical analysis of joint movement, both in simple and complex actions. Key topics include: functional joint anatomy, biomechanics of movement, complex motor synergies, kinetic chains, coordinative abilities and related models, strength, speed, and endurance.
Acquire basic skills in instrumentation and biomechanical analysis of the technical sports gesture. Understand the physiological and biomechanical processes underlying the different movements. Knowledge of the principles of movement, levers, origins, insertions and functions of the different muscle groups involved in the sporting gesture.
At the end of the course, you will have to:
Explain methods of intervention and motor programs underlying the teaching methodology
The course includes a subdivision of frontal lessons.
The frontal lessons will be carried out in the classroom while the practical lessons will be carried out in the laboratory.
At the end of each lesson, Educational Innovation tools will be used to facilitate the consolidation of the information given during the lesson just completed.
Introduction to motor/sport movement: movement, posture and motor patterns related to sport performance in different situations, age groups and levels of sport.
Principles of human performance: Information processing and decision making, memory and the process of memorising motor actions, contribution of sensory and sensitive afferents to skilled performance.

The lessons will take place in the 2nd semester
The class schedule will be available at the following link: https://easyacademy.unige.it › portalestudenti
The timetable for this course is available here: EasyAcademy
The exam will be Oral and will focus on the presentation of a project from which a question will be developed.
This teaching is part of the integrated course of " Aspetti biologici e biomeccanici della prestazione sportiva 2". For this reason, the exam for this teaching module must be taken together with the other 2 courses on the same session date.
The exam will be considered passed with a score of 18/30.
In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, the University legislation and regulations on disability and SLD are applied (https://unige.it/disabilita-dsa/studenti-disabilit%C3% A0-normative).
See also the "Other information" section of this syllabus.
The oral exam will assess the acquisition of the fundamental knowledge covered in the course. The questions will evaluate the ability to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge. Students will be expected to connect and integrate the concepts learned during lectures with those gained through individual study.
In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact both the Department contact person, Prof. Nicola Girtler, and the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.
