AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to provide students with the methodological tools to recognise the complexity of the pedagogical approach to storytelling, to identify the specificities of individual media and to emphasise their connections, cross-references and contaminations and to be able to develop autonomous and personal interpretative paths within the media landscape.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

- identify the narrative specificities peculiar to each ‘storytelling’ media;

- recognize educational models and their representation within the media dimension;

- recognize in contemporary narrative traces of educational models of the past;

- identify, through direct sources, the main educational models present in narrative contemporaneity;

- experiencing and acquiring basic transversal skills such as: competence in project creation

TEACHING METHODS

The lectures are in presence mode and involving the use of multimedia devices. Attending students can be divided into small groups to undertake research aimed at achieving the training objectives of the cours.

In particular, the methodologies used concern audio video creation and project based learning to work on basic transversal soft skills: functional alphabetic competence; personal competence; social competence and competence in design creation.

Approximately 5 or 10% of sources used in lectures well be in English.

Students with valid certifications for Specific Learning Disorders (DSA), disabilities or other educational needs are asked to contact the lecturer and the School/Department's disability coordinator at the beginning of the course to agree on possible teaching modalities that, while respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning patterns.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course explores the narrative-imaginative complexity of the contemporary world, with a focus on cross-mediality and intermediality. themes and characters from children's and adolescent literature will enable students to explore the relationship between storytelling and education.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam is oral and includes a  critical an participatory discussion on topics  and themes indicated in the program. For the students who will attend the course  a final test is opportunely identified.
