The course does not provide curricula, but pathways, i.e. recommended curricula:

  • International Communication and Cooperation for Institutions and Businesses 
  • Languages for the blue economy 
  • Languages for the promotion of tourism 
  • Languages and Intercultural Communication for the American Continent

Learning by doing

All pathways include the possibility of undertaking work placements, attending a workshop dedicated to Digital Tools for Documentary and Terminological Research, and spending a period abroad on Erasmus, either for study or for a work placement.

Professional outlets

The Master's Degree in Languages and Intercultural Communication for Institutions and Businesses allows students to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities useful for highly specialised functions in linguistic and cultural mediation in international organisations for cooperation and development aid, in public bodies responsible for the protection of languages and cultures, in particular of migrant communities and linguistic minorities, as well as in the hospitality sector, including educational services in multilingual and multicultural contexts; in specialised multilingual communication in the areas covered by the training course, in consultancy and public relations in international companies, with particular regard to companies and institutions operating in the blue economy sector; in linguistic and cultural consultancy in the tourism sector in public and private bodies, for the purposes of organising cultural itineraries, cultural events, as well as in conference tourism.

Contents

The common objective of the four courses is to train professionals with a high level of written and oral proficiency in two foreign languages.
. The course includes common teachings in the areas of foreign languages and cultures to enable the refinement of already acquired skills. These activities are complemented by others specific to each course:

  • The International Communication and Cooperation for Institutions and Business pathway provides pragmatic and intercultural skills necessary for mediation activities and skills for multilingual communication in business
  • .
  • The Languages for the Blue Economy pathway
  • explores the field of economic and political geography and maritime transport economics (including the digital skills associated with this sector).
  • The pathwayLanguages for the promotion of tourism addresses the areas of the geography of cultural heritage, tourism economics, and tourism business law
  • .
  • The Languages and Intercultural Communication for the American Continent pathway
  • explores issues related to the languages and cultures of the American continent, cultural mediation and anthropology.
