This module, coordinated with other modules in the same subject to which reference is made, aims to provide students with some of the conceptual and operational tools needed to survey historic buildings with even complex floor plans and volumes. At the end of the lessons, students will be able to design and execute a topographic survey using dedicated equipment.
The module alternates a few hours of classroom teaching with others of practical exercises carried out together with the students on the building that is the subject of the year's work, with the technical assistance of the MARSC Laboratory staff.
The module provides a general overview of topographic surveying, recalling basic theoretical notions and concepts. It highlights the potential and limitations of the operational tools used by operators in the sector through examples taken from surveys carried out over time. It illustrates the operation of the equipment present at the MARSC Laboratory and in use at the School.
