Historical Sciences / Histoire: a French-Italian degree programme

In 2020, an agreement was signed for the award of a double degree between the University of Genoa (UNIGE) and the Université d'Aix-Marseille (AMU), as part of the Master's Degree in Historical Sciences (UNIGE) and the Master Histoire, Civilisations, Patrimoine (AMU), later renamed Histoire (https://allsh.univ-amu.fr/fr/formation/masters/master-histoire).

The students admitted to the course do part of their studies abroad and obtain a double degree, in Italy and France.

.

Admission requirements

Master's degree courses are open to graduates and undergraduates with a Bachelor's degree in the humanities, subject to passing a selective examination aimed at ascertaining an aptitude for the study of historical disciplines.

To take part, you must have obtained your Bachelor's degree by 31 December 2025 and be formally enrolled in the Master's degree course in Historical Sciences.

A knowledge of the French language at B2 level is required; otherwise, a special French language course must be included in the plan.

A call for applications is published each year, describing the admission requirements and the procedures for selection and participation.

.

Curricula and training plan

The compilation of the study plan must be done autonomously by UNIGE students; AMU students must contact the International Relations Office.

The thesis can be written either in Italian or in French, attaching an abstract (between 10 and 20 pages) in the other language. The discussion can be held either in Genoa or in Aix-en-Provence (you can choose in which language).

Attached hereto is the teaching plan/maquette for the double degree programme.
