Dr. Andrea De SotgiuIn an ever-changing and increasingly transmedia contemporary context, the disruptive advent of Generative AI is profoundly changing the way content is produced, amidst lights and shadows.The aim of the workshop is to develop a critical awareness of the tools, old and new, to promote a reasoned use of this technological revolution from which it is now difficult to disregard.In the context of the Media Content Production course held by Prof. Saverio Iacono in the Master's degree course in Digital Humanities - Interactive Systems and Digital Media, on Monday 3 November 2025 from 2 to 6 p.m., Dr. Andrea De Sotgiu's lecture entitled "Audio Essentials, Music Production and AI" will be held.The workshop will begin with an introduction to the theoretical basis of the physics of sound and its transformation into sound content.Following this, the latest technologies for audio production will be presented, analysing the processes involved in pre-production, production and post-production/finalisation.The world of spatial audio and the main trends in this niche will not be missing.Finally, several artificial intelligence tools (Suno, Ozone, Faster Master, Vocal Remover) will be shown in action, analysing their impact on audio production practices. Andrea De Sotgiu, aka 'desso', is an author and producer from Genoa. Since 2015 in activity with the band Zueno, he matures his experience writing songs, playing drums and producing artists in the Ligurian territory. In 2017, he attended a one-year songwriting course with singer-songwriter Zibba. In 2018 he graduates in Urban Music Production at the SAE Institute in Milan and in 2022 he obtains a PhD in Immersive Music at the University of Genoa.In the same year, together with Zueno, he won the "Franco Califano" award for best lyrics at the Samara Festival with the song "Le Chiavi di Casa" and, again with the same song, he received the "Best Song for the Under 21 Jury" award at the Arezzo Wave competition.As a producer and musician, he has followed projects by Braff, Maenellavita, Matsby, Scar, Hazel Brown and many other artists.
