The course deepens and specializes the contents of Romance philology, the exam of which must be present in the three-year degree course.

Deep knowledge of the medieval romance tradition in its cultural aspects over than linguistic

Knowledge of the literary and cultural tradition of the Romance Middle Ages, through the analysis of exemplary cases discussed in class, in order to bring out the dialectic and the connection between philological-linguistic and socio-anthropological aspects.

PREREQUISITES

Notions of cultural history, linguistics, theory and literary criticism; in the event of failure to pass the exam of Romance Philology in the three-year degree course, it is advisable to agree with the teacher on an integration of the study program.

TEACHING METHODS

The teaching takes place in the classroom, combining a series of lectures with a series of seminar exercises carried out by attending students.

Languages, in addition to Italian, that can be used for teaching activities: Latin, Old French, Old Provençal (for sources); French, English, German (for critical literature)

Subsequently, at least 7 days before the exam date, an email must be sent to the teacher with whom the exam will be taken, copying both the School Contact Teacher for the inclusion of students with disabilities and with DSA (Prof. Elisabetta Colagrossi: elisabetta.colagrossi@unige.it) and the Sector indicated above. In the email, you must specify: the name of the course; the date of the exam; the student's surname, name and matriculation number; the compensatory tools and dispensatory measures deemed functional; and requested. The contact person will confirm to the teacher that the applicant has the right to request adaptations during the exam and that such adaptations must be agreed with the teacher. The teacher will respond by communicating whether it is possible to use the requested adaptations.

Requests must be sent at least 7 days before the exam date in order to allow the teacher to evaluate the content. In particular, if you intend to use concept maps for the exam (which must be much more concise than the maps used for studying), if the sending does not respect the expected times, there will not be the technical time necessary to make any changes.

Students for whom the exam is worth only 6 credits, as an alternative to attending and completing the exercises, can agree on a different program with the teacher.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam consists of an oral interview.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam takes place in the form of questions asked to the student to ascertain the sure mastery of the contents treated in the class and the methodological competence acquired in the interpretation of the texts; the ability to present critical topics with precision and consistency can be verified and evaluated even beforehand during the course of the seminar exercises.

FURTHER INFORMATION

Readings and critical texts will be indicated during the lessons.

Non-attending students are required to agree an alternative and compensatory class study program with the teacher.

Special cases: students with curricula other than modern literature or who in any case insert the teaching among those free according to the study plan (for 6 or 9 credits) can agree with the teacher on a program adapted to their specific educational interests.
