OVERVIEW

The course provides basic teaching of pathophysiology, diagnostics and therapy of diseases of the locomotor system, with particular reference to the osteoarticular pathologies and motor activity of the individual. Particular scope of expertise is addressed to joint prosthetics, general and sports traumatology, vertebral pathology, arthroscopic surgery, pathology of the hand and foot.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The study of diseases of the locomotor system is an important step in the cultural preparation of the professional of Motor Sciences, with specific reference to the main moments of the individual’s life: the evolutionary age; the juvenile, adult and senescence age, with motor problems related. The main pathologies of a general nature (arthrosis, osteoporosis) and district (spinal cord, joint diseases of the lower and upper limb) are analyzed.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Recognition of common pathologies of the locomotor system and subsequent initiation of the most correct forms of motor exercise.

PREREQUISITES

Notions of anatomy and physiology.

TEACHING METHODS

Frontal lecture.

- sprain trauma and ankle fractures

- tendinopathies and tendon ruptures of the upper and lower limb

- vertebral deformities

- degenerative intervertebral disc disease

- vertebral fractures

- osteoporosis

- the painful shoulder 

- traumatic pathology of the scapulothoracic cingulate

- forearm and wrist fractures

- osteoarthritis

 - developmental osteochondrosis
