Consequently, renowned scholars from universities across Italy—and in some cases from abroad—will come to Genoa to present ongoing research on the themes, key figures, and turning points that defined the 20th century. This will be a valuable educational opportunity for students. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The seminar aims at providing the students an adequate knowledge, from the methodological and cultural point of view, of the main turning points of the the international system in the XX century AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the seminar, students will be expected to: - understand the role played by dipomatic documents in describing the main turning points of the XX century; - apply the knowledge acquired to current events, that is, analyse current international dynamics using the tools provided by the teaching as a key to understanding them; - develop a critical judgement of the international dynamics of the 20th century and be able to critically analyse its role in the current international system; - increase their communication skills, both in written form (paper to be presented at the end of the seminar) and in oral form using appropriate vocabulary (through class discussions) - develop one's learning skills through class discussion and the study of suggested reference texts; Teaching contributes to the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. 3. Attendance is mandatory. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The annual conference of the Società italiana di Storia internazionale (SISI) will be held in Genoa, at the Albergo dei Poveri, in June 2027. The program will be announced in the early months of 2027 and duly publicized. Between 30 and 40 panels are planned, many of which will take place in parallel sessions. Attend a minimum of 12 hours of the conference (attendance will be recorded); 2. Submit a report via Aulaweb—between 3,000 and 4,000 characters in length (excluding the header and title)—on one of the presentations of their choice. The report must accurately reflect the content presented by the speaker; reports copied from the internet or other sources, or generated using ChatGPT or other AI software, will be deemed inadmissible.
