AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of teaching is to provide knowledge about the essential elements of the structure of the cell, tissues, and organs.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

To Know structure, organization and function of different human tissues and morphological-functional characteristics of cells that compose them.
EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS
Knowledge of investigation methods in cytology and histology.
Knowledge of the terminology of the discipline.
Knowledge of the subcellular, cellular and tissue structures of the human body

During the last lessons of the course, students are given some tests to assess the knowledge acquired. A moment of discussion with the teacher on the results of the tests follows.

TEACHING METHODS

Frontal lecture.
Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, should contact the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liaise and arrange the specific teaching methods so that the learning aims and outcomes may be met.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

During the lessons an ongoing test could be carried out to evaluate the level of acquisition of the first contents held in the classroom and concerning the cytology.

The oral exam is aimed at evaluating the learning of knowledge related to the topics illustrated and discussed in the classroom and the ability to integrate and contextualize this knowledge.
In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, the University legislation and regulations on disability and SLD are applied (https://unige.it/disabilita-dsa/studenti-disabilit%C3% A0-normative).
See also the "Other information" section of this syllabus.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

1. The choice of the examination method allows to verify the acquisition of the knowledge inserted in the training objectives

2. The oral test that is the examination methods used and that includes most of the program carried out allows to better evaluate how the student orients himself in the entire tissue scenario addressed in class, allowing also to evaluate his reasoning skills. aimed at associating structural notions with functional concepts

3. If the candidate has not achieved the minimum objectives, the exam will not be deemed passed

FURTHER INFORMATION

Details regarding exam preparation and the required level of depth for each topic will be provided during the course.
