OVERVIEW

A broad overview of the main diseases of old age is necessary for the complete training of the master's student, as they will have the chance to deal, in their professional work, with elderly patients, especially in a region where age-related issues are prevalent. The course will start from the general concepts of inflammatory, degenerative, or metabolic diseases. Special attention will be given to this key chapter on osteometabolic diseases that shape the functional profile of an older person.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The objective of the teaching is to deepen the knowledge regarding the main pathological processes in aging with a specialized analysis of both elective and traumatic diseases of the locomotor system and their disabling aftermaths.
