Information updated until 30/06/2026 CODE 117549 ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027 CREDITS 7 cfu anno 1 SCIENZE E TECNICHE DELLO SPORT 11890 (LM-68 R) - GENOVA TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA MODULES Questo insegnamento è composto da: CARDIOLOGY IN SPORTS PHARMACOLOGY IN SPORT AND DOPING SPORTS MEDICINE AND BLS TECHNIQUES TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW Sports activity, in addition to offering countless benefits from a metabolic, locomotor, and cardiovascular point of view, subjects the body to stress conditions and promotes the onset of pathologies, as well as aggravating pre-existing conditions. The role of sports medicine, a medical field with a distinctly preventive character, is to promptly identify all those conditions that represent contraindications for sports activity and to guide the athlete towards a type of activity that does not worsen their health status. In particular, the course will address the risks that the cardiovascular system of athletes may face and will illustrate the basic life support techniques necessary to handle cardiovascular emergencies. The pharmacological treatment of athletes is often essential but carries risks related to its misuse; this awareness must be part of the knowledge base of a graduate in Sports Science and Techniques. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The integrated course of "Medical aspects of sports performance 2" includes various specific courses (internal medicine, pharmacology, cardiology) and provides for the acquisition by the student of the CDS in sport sciences and techniques of the specific basics of the individual courses. Therefore, the earning outcomes comprehend the acquisition of the basic notions of the individual courses with particular attention to the methods of definition and attribution of sports suitability, to the definition and methods of ascertaining doping in sport, to cardiac activity during sports activities and to cardiological diseases that can limit the sporting activity itself. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES - PREREQUISITES This course comprehends teachings about sport medicine, life support strategies, techniques of evaluation of cardiologic health in athletes, and pyharmacological treatment pf sport-associated emergencies emergenze associate allo sport.
