Information updated until 30/06/2026 CODE 67597 ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027 CREDITS 1 cfu anno 6 MEDICINA E CHIRURGIA 8745 (LM-41) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR MED/26 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: EMERGENCY AND TRAUMATOLOGY TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW Rapid diagnosis of ischemic stroke and hyper-acute treatment with intravenous thrombolysis and intra-arterial thrombectomy AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The student will be able to identify the onset stroke symptoms and to predispose the correct diagnostic procedure in order to differentiate ischemic and hemorrhagic forms, and to know the modern neurological and neuro-radiologic therapies . TEACHING METHODS Theoretic frontal lessons including clinical cases’ presentation and analysis of the literature. Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liase and arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Description of the stroke epidemiology; description of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke types, neuro-radiologic test for differential diagnosis; rules of stroke treatment in the acute phase; indications and contra-indications of the thrombolytic therapy.
