AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The teaching aims to deepen the educational methodologies through technical-practical activities, in light of the theoretical knowledge related to judo.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the module, participants will be able to:

  • perform basic falling techniques (ukemi) under controlled conditions;
  • apply fundamental elements of posture, movement, gripping, and balance breaking;
  • recognize and execute basic techniques both standing and on the ground;
  • apply safe and appropriate behavior in the dojo;
  • collaborate effectively with partners;
  • understand basic exercise progressions and teaching methods;
  • actively participate in practice activities respecting judo principles.

 Attendance requirement: minimum 70% active participation

Participation in Practical Activities and Code of Conduct

In the event of an injury, the student, in order to ensure active participation, is required to take notes during the lesson using only paper and pen. The report must be submitted at the end of the lesson for the instructor’s signature and may be collected later.

During practical lessons, for safety reasons and respect for the educational environment, all electronic devices must be switched off.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Technical-practical activities

The module develops technical, motor, and methodological aspects of judo through individual, partner, and group activities.

1. Practice context and organization

  • dojo rules and behavior
  • structure of a judo lesson
  • greeting ritual (Rei)
  • general and specific preparation

2. Motor preparation and safety

  • safety and injury prevention principles
  • warm-up methods
  • body control and partner interaction
  • falling techniques (Ukemi):
    • backward, forward, lateral falls
    • rolling falls
    • application in dynamic situations

3. Fundamental technical elements

  • posture, movement, distance, grip (kumi-kata)
  • balance breaking (kuzushi) and action–reaction
  • introduction to the attacking system
  • basic standing and ground techniques and transitions
  • simple combinations

4. Teaching progression and methodology

  • technical progressions
  • methodological principles (guided discovery, problem-solving)
  • cooperative and controlled opposition activities

5. Opposition and application

  • opposition games
  • structured randori (with constraints)
  • problem-solving situations
