AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

To gain knowledge and recognize abnormalities in hemostasis and platelet function. To know the basic principles of cardiac anestesiologhy and how to manege fluid during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures.To gain knowledge of the basic principles of general anesthesia during cardiac surgery, the potential associated complications and the alterations in hemodynamics during surgical procedures. To be able to relate and discuss with the anesthesiologist during extracorporeal circulatory support in cardiac surgery.

TEACHING METHODS

Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liase and arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes.
