AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the course is the acquisition of a rigorous method for understanding and analyzing architectural space through proper and adequate historical training, as well as the ability to read architecture in its multiplicity of values: tectonic-spatial, material, stylistic, symbolic, functional, urban, and in terms of its correlation with other expressive fields (ornaments, and sculptural and pictorial furnishings). Analyzing and commenting on an architectural work also means relating it to others, seeking connections, links, and developments on both a synchronic and diachronic level; in other words, the course aims to develop the capacity for comparison and, consequently, interpretation.
