TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB

OVERVIEW

The teaching module presents and deepens the fundamentals of design, with particular regard to the conventions and practices of use in the nautical and naval field.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The teaching is aimed at deepening the fundamentals of drawing with particular attention to the conventions and practices used in the naval field.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The main objective of teaching is to guide students to achieve sufficient interpretative and expressive autonomy in the graphic field, through theoretical lessons and practical exercises.

The lessons begin with the development of the main conventions governing graphic expression and then delve into the basic methods of representation, mainly orthogonal projections and axonometric projections, with insights into the use of color, rendering, and layout methods of a graphic work.

TEACHING METHODS

The course is organized with a series of lessons that include a first part of theoretical focus followed by an application exercise.

Each exercise is delivered by the student and returned correct to the next lesson.

The final evaluation is based on the average grades of the exercises delivered and the grade obtained in a final drawing test.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The programme is structured around the following themes

- Definitions of conventions and founding elements of the design, with particular reference to the nautical design

- Principles of projective and descriptive geometry

- Orthogonal projections

- Section and its applications, such as the Construction Plan

- Axonometry: three-dimensional narratives and formal investigations

- Design sketch, color and representation of perceptual aspects

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The final exam consists of a drawing test on a topic of the student's choice, previously agreed upon with the teacher.

The final test aims to demonstrate that the student has acquired the graphic expression skills necessary for the 'visual' narration of the chosen theme.

The final grade is based on the average grade of the ongoing exercises and the final test.

Ongoing exercises that have received insufficient evaluation may be redone and re-evaluated; in this case, only the best grade will be taken into account.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The assessment of  the acquired skills is conducted both during the course, with the evaluation of single-theme exercises, and with the development of the final test.
