AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The teaching intends to develop a reflection on the meaning of communication as constituent of the identity and experience of the human being. Through the problematisation of issues, critical and argued reflection, and comparison with the texts of some contemporary authors, the relational status of the human person will be explored, i.e. the interconnection with the other in its various forms and its essential dialogical openness.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

1. identify the main philosophical approaches to communication as a human act and to dialogue as a form of communication

2. understand the theoretical framework underpinning the positions presented, as well as their existential and ethical implications

3. develop their own position in an informed, well-founded and critical manner, justifying it with sound arguments

Achieving these learning objectives promotes the development of a number of important cross-curricular skills: functional literacy, personal and social skills, and the ability to learn how to learn.

TEACHING METHODS

The lessons will be conducted with a focus on discussion and small-group work, utilising participatory methodologies (PBL, flipped classroom, etc.) as much as possible.

The activities used in the lessons are tools for PEER EVALUATION. These activities will enable attending students to earn an OPEN BADGE certifying their participation in a course aimed at developing soft skills relating to the following key competencies: functional literacy; personal skills; social skills; and learning to learn.

Audio and video materials will be made available on Aulaweb to support the learning of students who, due to work commitments, are unable to attend the course in person.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course consists of a theoretical component focusing on issues and texts by authors relevant to the topics under consideration, and a practical, workshop-based component which also involves the development of a mini-project

RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY

The reading list includes the following text:

A. Aguti, M. Moschini, M. Bozza, Filosofia dialogica, intersoggettività, religione, Orthotes, Napoli 2024

The teacher will provide further useful materials during the course, particularly for students who sign the class agreement and attend lectures regularly.
