OVERVIEW

This module is dedicated to Practical Technical Activities related to teaching ‘Body Expression’.

Body expression refers to facial, gestural, and postural language in constant communication with oneself, others, and the environment.

Body expression is essential in conducting individual and group motor, sports, and leisure activities. Professionally, it teaches observation, understanding, and creation through movement, and is therefore useful in teaching and in amateur, competitive, or more simply in the countless possible forms of gymnastic activities.

The course aims to deepen teaching methodologies through technical and practical activities, in light of the theoretical knowledge of body expression.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

- Possess the knowledge and cultural and methodological tools necessary to understand, design, organize, and conduct physical, sporting, and leisure activities at the individual and group levels, with particular attention to the communicative-expressive aspect.

- Develop skills in expressive languages and the interaction between movement and emotional/cognitive processes.

- Discover new communicative contexts, through the body, gesture, posture, and facial-mimicry language, putting ourselves at stake on bodily potentialities that have been little explored in everyday life, also stimulated by the use of recovery tools or codified tools, but used creatively.

- Acquire an exploratory method based on observation, listening, and perception, necessary not only for personal growth but also for perfecting movement, which is useful professionally in fields ranging from the expressive field to sport.

PREREQUISITES

Theoretical knowledge acquired through lectures.

TEACHING METHODS

Practical lessons in the gym supported by multimedia tools (computers, video projector, films, music, etc).

Group laboratory exercises with or without small tools.

Students with valid certifications for Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), disabilities, or other educational needs are invited to contact the teacher and the School/Department disability contact at the beginning of the course to agree on any teaching methods that, in compliance with the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory tools/dispensatives recognized by the University's SLD Student Service.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Ability to experience and perceive the many ways in which the same movement can be performed. Communicative-expressive aspect

Space and time: Space as volume, personal space, and general space. Time as rhythmic choices of performance.

Move in a personal, spontaneous, and non-stereotypical way, following your own rhythm or the proposed rhythm, sometimes based on simple deliveries; experimenting with the basic body schema and motor patterns in the freest and most creative way possible.

Observe composing, representing, representing, playing with and without tools (balls of various kinds, ropes, pieces of fabric, empty plastic bottles), representing ideas, moods and stories through gestures and postures individually, in pairs, in groups.

Observation and analysis of movement. Recognize the possible interactions between expressive languages and other fields, artistic, educational, sports, etc.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The ATPs do not have an exam.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The evaluation of ATPs is based on the frequency and active participation.

FURTHER INFORMATION

A minimum frequency of 70% of total ATP hours is required for the recognition of ATP CFUs.

Active attendance at ATP is required for access to the ATP-associated theoretical teaching benefit exam.
