OVERVIEW

The aim of the Rheumatology module is to guide students in understanding the main rheumatological pathologies in order to design and implement motor and sports activity programs based on functional assessments and aimed at preventing and improving the quality of life of patients affected by rheumatic pathology.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The teaching aims to provide specialized skills on the main rheumatological disorders of interest, with particular attention to the components of secondary motor disability.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course and after an appropriate period of study, students will be able to:

- understand the clinical symptoms and have basic information to be able to make a differential diagnosis between the main diseases, characterizing their symptoms and signs.

- understand that where early diagnosis is not made and an adequate integrated and multidisciplinary therapeutic program is established, most rheumatic pathologies create a significant socio-economic impact as they tend to become chronic, causing functional alterations that limit the patient's quality of life (disability).

TEACHING METHODS

Teachings are conducted with lectures.

Cases with certification of DSA, disability, or other special educational needs are advised to contact both the Department representative, Prof. Nicola Girtler, and the teacher at the beginning of classes to agree on teaching and exam methods that, in compliance with the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory tools/dispensatives recognized by the University's DSA Student Service.
