CODE 121881 ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027 CREDITS 2 cfu anno 1 ARCHITETTURA 11913 (LM-4 R) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR IIND-07/B LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The module provides the fundamental principles underlying building services design and highlights the need to integrate technical systems within the architectural project. Through practical exercises, the relationship between building systems, the intended use of the building, energy efficiency, and space management is also addressed. At the end of the course, students will be able to: set up the calculation of the design thermal load for heating and cooling in a building; evaluate the behavior of building components with respect to the risk of surface and interstitial condensation. TEACHING METHODS The module consists of theoretical lectures introducing the topics, followed by numerical exercises that deepen specific themes and solve practical examples. To provide students with a realistic perspective on the topics addressed, a seminar delivered by a professional in the field on a specific subject is also planned. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Quick recap of indoor thermo-hygrometric comfort conditions. Procedure for calculating the design heating load. Simplified procedure for calculating the cooling load. Assessment of the internal surface temperature of building components and the risk of condensation and mould formation. The module includes applied exercises related to the theoretical topics covered. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY The student may study using the handouts prepared by the Professor and made available for download through the AulaWeb service. For independent study and for further exploration of specific topics, the following texts may be suggested: •Rossi N., Manuale del termotecnico, Hoepli, 2014. •Bergero S., Chiari A., Appunti di termoigrometria e impianti, Aracne Editrice, 2015. •Magrini A., Magnani L., La progettazione degli impianti di climatizzazione negli edifici, EPC LIBRI, 2010. TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD STEFANO LAZZARI Ricevimento: Student office hours typically take place on Wednesday mornings, from 11:00 to 12:00, or at the end of individual lessons. Students must schedule appointments for office hours via email (stefano.lazzari@unige.it). Appointments can also be arranged for different times/days and conducted through the Microsoft Teams platform. LESSONS Class schedule The timetable for this course is available here: Portale EasyAcademy EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION The assessment of learning is carried out through a final oral examination where students describe their own exercise and answer questions on the programme. The oral exam is aimed at evaluating the candidate’s ability to analyse, synthesize, and explore in depth the topics addressed. ASSESSMENT METHODS The oral examination assesses the student’s knowledge of the various topics and the level of critical reasoning achieved, with particular attention to clarity of presentation and the correct use of technical language. All information regarding the module (announcements, any changes to office hours, weather alerts, etc.) is always published on AulaWeb and communicated to students through messages sent via the platform. FURTHER INFORMATION To make the most of the module’s content, it is recommended that the student has attended and preferably passed the examination in Technical Systems for Architecture.
