The course is divided into a theoretical part (modulo teorico) and two practical parts (lettorati) on 'Use of English' and translation. The information below concerns the theoretical part.
Improving competence in the English code, both from a descriptive and from a communicative point of view.
36 hours (3 hours over 12 weeks) to be held mainly in class and, to a lesser extent, through distance learning. Active participation on the part of students is required.
The course introduces students to the scientific description of the phonology, morphology and syntax of the English language.

Oral exam
The oral exam, lasting approximately 20 minutes, is held in English and consists in the analysis of a short passage. During the exam the student must demonstrate that s/he is able to apply the notions learnt during the course to text analysis.
It is strongly recommended to enrol on the course on Aulaweb a couple of weeks before it starts.
