OVERVIEW

The Course provides information on the prevention and promotion of health, indications and contraindications to physical activity, deepen social and psychological aspects and those affecting the quality of life. The practical part of the course provides the specific information needed to be able to deal with the planning and development of motor sport sessions with competence.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the course is to study the methodological path of motor activities with its peculiarities during senescence, and correlate it to: - the paraphysiological state of fragility of elderly people, - post-pneumatic functional residues, Motor skills residual post-disease (neurological, motor, dismetabolic), cognitive and learning skills of the subject, - design the possible motor path for each disability category of the elderly.

LEARNING OUTCOMES (FURTHER INFO)

The aim of the course is to provide the student with the theoretical and technical-operational knowledge of basic motor activity in order to maintain the autonomy of the elderly person through sports activities. This latter understanding has the objective of expressing or improving the physical and psychic condition, developing social relationships, or obtaining results in competitions of different levels.

Frontal lessons

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Old Age Index. Theories of Aging. Primary, secondary, tertiary maturity. Ageism. Anatomical and functional modifications in physiological aging. Motory activity in the elderly: advantages and risks associated with training. Optimized forms of physical exercises, such as preventing functional limitations and improving quality of life. Prevention of falls in the elderly. Intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Balance, engine and postural patterns. Physical activity as prevention of osteoporosis. Prevention and reactivation in institutionalized elderly: occupational therapy. Negative stereotypes and physical activity, towards a theory of physical exercise in the old age Gentle gymnastics, relaxation techniques, dancing as a preventative motor activity. Which sports activity: indications and contraindications to practice. From sedentary to the first forms of physical activity guided: examples of activities for everyone, from recreational, leisure, amateur, to agonistic. Basic course, practical lessons, seminars. Prevention of accidents and safety of activities in different environments.
