The subject of the module is the evaluation as a tool to support complex decision-making processes and urban and territorial transformations. The module will develop the theme of the feasibility of urban transformation both from the economic, social and environmental point of view, with particular reference to a municipal planning process.
Supplies the theoretical and operational tools for assessing the feasibility of urban and territorial transformation interventions.
The main objective of the module is to provide students with the theoretical and operational tools for assessing the feasibility of interventions at different scales, from building to urban and territorial.
The student will learn what types of value search and which evaluation techniques apply for the resolution of evaluation questions.
The module's didactic path is developed on three levels:
- frontal lessons in the classroom; - thematic insights through the consultation of materials available online (by @ulaweb) by the teacher; - classroom exercises.
The module is divided into two parts:
The first part deals with - from a theoretical point of view - the evaluation techniques (monetary and non-monetary) with particular reference to the project at the urban and territorial level.
In particular, the following evaluation techniques will be considered.
- SWOT analysis
- Multicriteria analysis
In the second part of the module will be developed a feasibility assessment of the urban design developed by students. The purpose of the evaluation will be defined in terms of the characteristics of the various design proposals developed by the students.
The evaluation application will be carried out for groups of students.

Each group of students presents their work concerning an evaluation appli- cation to the project theme developed within the course and illustrates the results obtained. The evaluation is carried out jointly with the work done in the urban planning module
The assessment concerns both group work, the contribution of the individual and his overall commitment and profit. The Commission evaluates in an integrated way the contents of the project proposal, the elaborations through which it is expressed, the modalities of its presentation. Participation in exercises and collective discussions is required, also during the year, during which the individual commitment of each student will be considered.
Given the strong interactive character of the teaching, the frequency of the student is required.
